Not really sure where to start with Patatrunk to be honest. How do you explain to someone without actually seeing it first ? You can see hopefully that he is a elephant and the name should give you a clue as well. If Patamoo is not wild or quirky enough for you, I am pretty sure Patatrunk will fit the bill. Security when buying online

I wish all online nursery baby shops were as straight forward and easy to use at the 4little1s.com website. Some online nursery shops make you feel like you are studying for a MCITP exam, so for those of you who would prefer to make life complicated for themselves……
Domain Controllers and their locations.
So how does a windows client connect to its local Domain controller ? When a client connects to the network and starts, it receives an IP address (either via DHCP or static) and is ready to authenticate. First of all it needs to find a domain controller to authenticate to. Basically the client queries the domain for the location of the nearest domain controller and it does this by a query to the _tcp folder which contains the SRV record for all DC’s in the domain. DNS returns a list of the DC’s that match its criteria. If this is the first time a client has booted, it tries to contact all of them ! The first DC that replies advises the client of which SITE it belongs to and then this info is updated into the client’s registry. The client then queries the _tcp folder in the site specific folder of which DNS then provide a list of all the DC’s in the site. The client attempts to bind with all of them, but the first DC that responds first authenticates the client and forms an affinity. If DC that client has an Affinity for is down, the _tcp folder is queried again to find a new one to authenticate to.
- Step 1 – Client query to _tcp to locate SRV record
- Step 2 – DNS provides info
- Step 3 – If first boot try’s all of them !
- Step 4 – DC advises client which SITE it is supposed to be logging into
- Step 5 – Clients registry updated with info
- Step 6 – Client then queries site specific _tcp folder
- Step 7 – DC that responds, authenticates it
- Step 8 – The client is said to form an ‘affinity’ to this DC and uses it for the future
By the way, Kerberos protocol is a subject for another day, but is very interesting indeed !!

The good news is that we have some new photo's to share with you about the very exciting NEW range of children's bedding from Izziwotnot....GRUFFALO ! I have posted a few of them below to give you a taster. There Gruffalo photos show the devet and pillowcase cover, the pillows and the canopy that are all sure to light up your child's eyes when they see this set.
The bad news is that you will have to wait until around December 2011 to be able to buy it. However based on the photos the quality and design looks excellent that we think the wait will be worth it !

Nursery Rugs, Sunhats, Sunglasses and Hampers

Well this is the start of my day on this glorious Friday with the sun shining and a load of boxes that need sorted out. Like most of the products we have at 4little1s.com, as soon as you see them you really do notice the quality and effort that has been put into them in the first place. Take these rugs I am moving around, they would go really well in any child's or baby nursery and will make a wooden floor a much soften and fun place to play on. Or even a carpet, rugs offer a great shield from spilt milk, juice etc. I thought I would post a few pictures to give you an idea of what is available on the 4little1s.com website rug wise.....
First off we have the rugs that we need to move around and put in a better order. The ZOO ANIMAL RUG on the left is a brilliant rug as it features four fun looking animals that you may find in a zoo. All smiling and waiting to have fun. These rugs will really lift a nursery and draws the eyes downwards towards this lovely fun rug for kids. The Zoo animal rug is 3ft x 3ft and is made from 100% hand tufted acrylic. Just look at those cheeky looking faces of Mr monkey, Mrs giraffe, Mr lion and Ms hippo. The rug is roughly half an inch thick and your little one will simply love it. Great for playing with toys on the floor with....you could even play 'going to the zoo....'
One of the old favourite children's rug's has to be the CAR PLAY RUG. These rugs have roads, houses, lakes and lots of places to visit like churches etc. Children will play for hours with their cars as they drive around the pretend roads and visit each others houses. Great value and a really simple idea that will keep kids entertained for hours. What's more when they have finished playing with the car rug, simply roll it up and put it somewhere out of the way with minimal fuss and clutter.
