A pregnant woman successfully gave birth to a baby girl on Fifth Avenue across from Central Park Friday as cheering well-wishers applauded the doctors who delivered the child.
Mount Sinai nursing manager Lucille Nassery said she heard the mom-to-be screaming from inside her office - and instantly recognized it as the sound of a pregnant woman.
"I heard a woman screaming and I said, 'That's the sound of someone having a baby,' said Nassery. "That sound is different than someone screaming in horror."
Elizabeth Brew, who was 33-weeks pregnant, and her husband were less than a block away from the hospital in their SUV when the baby's head began to crown, Nassery said.
Nassery, physicians and hospital staff rushed equipment to the middle of Fifth Avenue, where a crowd had formed to watch Dr. Anya Kogan deliver the 4-pound, 13-ounce baby.
The baby girl was delivered in time for staff to rush the 39-year-old Brew to a second-floor delivery room less than a block away - where she then gave birth to a 5-pound, 5-ounce twin boy.
"I'm sure for the mother it was kind of a tense experience but for us it was actually a lot of fun," added Nassery.
Brew, who has two kids home in Scarsdale, was recovering at the hospital. The two babies were expected to remain for a few weeks because they were born premature.

When your baby starts to cry, you will be able to look at the baby routine and see what is due next. If your baby is due a feed, you will start to recognise that cry as a hungry cry. If your baby is due to have a sleep, you will learn that cry as a tired cry.At first the idea of a baby routine can be quite scary.
You will think if you have to spend the day clock watching, how will you relax or get on with everyday jobs. What happens if you have an older child, with a school run to do each day? Don't worry, it is possible. Not everyone's baby or life is the same, so sometimes baby routines need careful adjusting to suit your circumstances.
If you find this to be your case, then try to follow my basic rules and adjust the routines to suit your circumstances better.
The feedback I get from parents following my baby routines is that it makes their lives easier. Through following my baby routines you are able to plan things such as doctor's appointments more easily, because you know what your baby will be doing at each stage of the day. If you have older children, they will also gain advantages from your younger baby having a routine, as you will be able to plan activities with your older children, as all the guesswork of what your baby may be doing at what time, is taken out of your day. The best part of these routines is knowing you will have time for yourself and your partner in the evening.

The party can be pre-birth or post birth, boy oriented, girl oriented or even unisex oriented. They can be small social gatherings among family and friends or they can be large community celebrations with entire towns joining in the celebration. They can be blow out bashes with celebrity entertainment and expensive baby show gifts or low-key intimate settings. It’s obvious to see that every culture celebrates the birth of a child in many different manners but one thing remains the same across all cultures. That celebration is one of joy, excitement and rejoicing!Planning a baby shower can be a daunting experience as well as a rewarding one. If you are the one in charge of this task and you plan to plan the party on your own there are a few things to keep in mind.
First, you want to gauge the size of the party. Usually contacting the parents of the expected mother or even the best friend (if you are not that person already) to obtain a guest list. Not much can be worse then if you forget to invite that one special person. When this happens it can be a downer for the whole party.
Once you have the guest list completed it makes planning much easier. It allows you to determine how many party favors, place settings, food and drink you will need to keep things lively or the full party. Olivers another baby

Executive timeout
Here at 4little1s.com we are planning to have an Executive week away, (week in Devon with the kids in a caravan) to think about strategy, (sleeping in late) aggressive and lengthy brainstorming sessions, (deciding if to eat in or out) and blue sky thinking (hope the weather is good).
It is always important in any business to take a step back,(chill out and not rush around so much) and take the Helicopter view, (think the caravan is on a hill) in order to pick low hanging fruit, (think there is an Orchard nearby, failing that a trip to buy some grapes from the local supermarket) and assess the options of going back to basics, (No luxury Gordon Ramsey kitchen here, good old gas stove to heat the beans up).
In order to get up to speed, (must ensure we don’t drive to fast and break the speed limit) and assess our options, (Beach or Park) we need to take a snapshot of the situation, (remember to take the camera, and not the rubbish one on the phone).
Items on the agenda include, can we hit the ground running ? (I can feel a game of rounders on the beach coming) and reviewing our speed to market, (might need a new PC). Finally reviewing our Market share, (wonder who drives the most there and back) and targeting the market, (must pack the Velcro dart board with the sticky balls).
As you can see by being a fly on the wall, (flies in caravan seem to sound louder) it will be an exhausting session full of workshops and brainstorming
